Five Indian tour operators visit Ireland for the first time

Five key Indian tour operators have visited Ireland as part of Tourism Ireland’s push to grow visitor numbers from the fast-growth ‘BRIC’ (Brazil, Russia, India, China) countries. [caption id="attachment_198" align="alignleft" width="150"]Ireland Tourism Ireland[/caption] It was the first time for everyone in the group to come here and their trip included taking a Viking Splash tour and a visit to Trinity College and the Guinness Storehouse. They also went to the Irish National Stud in Kildare and had a boat tour of Cork Harbour and a tour of Fota House and Gardens. Huzan Fraser, Tourism Ireland India, said: “The majority of our overseas visitors come from the core tourism markets of Great Britain, North America and Mainland Europe, and while this will continue, it is important that we expand our focus beyond these markets and look to the long-term opportunities presented by India and the other BRIC countries. “Latest estimates by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation suggest that India will account for 50 million outbound tourists by 2020 and we believe this market could play a significant part in helping us to grow tourism from overseas in the coming years.” Source: http://businessandleadership.com/exporting/item/42302-five-indian-tour-operators
